How to train your dragon - 3d

Before you read this review, just a word of caution. The movie is for a kid and for those who still wish they were one, and for those as well who are basically still one at heart.Luckily or unluckily, I see myself in all the three categories above - in addition to being a big fan of animation and witty dialogues.Shrek was a masterpiece in that sense, and well this movie comes pretty close. And it has 3D! So bingo, a full entertainer for a kid like me.
The plot is quite basic and cliche, a kid who is so not like the people he came from. His dad is a dragon killer, and the kid can't kill a fly even if his life depends on it.So he just goes on to be the first dragon tamer his viking tribe ever gave birth to.What differs is the fireworks on display in terms of the visual effects the film has.The imagination of the people behind these scenes is midblowing. The pace was a bit slow but my mind was too captivated with the 3D effects to notice. Its only when the movie ends, that we realise the movie was bit long for a Hollywood production. But then I look at it as more returns for my ticket money ;).I would really recommend watching this movie accompanied with a kid.Kidnap your niece, nephew, cousin whatever, whoever is above the age that it does not need to pee and shit and eat all the time and still below the age that it believes in dragons and wishes to fly and this movie will hit all the right spots at the right time. I do wish to fly, but I don't really believe in dragons, sadly, or I would have already trained them to burn some of the bad kids out there. But yes, it did make me wish they existed and as cute as they have been drawn on screen in the movie. Some of the scenes which did it for me were the first time the kid takes flight on his 'Toothless', the moment the kid tries killing the dragon and realises he doesn't really want to kill it inspite of telling himself for years that he was born to kill one and lastly the scene where the girl asks him why he didn't kill the dragon and his hearty explanation for it - if only all the people warring outside realised this simple truth!
So go on, head out to the nearest multiplex screening it and don't you dare watch it without 3D and yes if you really want a kid and fail to find one, you can always call yours truly anyday.I am as good or bad a kid as there can be one :P!
